Here we go, whoa-oh-oh.
"Anniversary Ball"
Written By: Mike Mariano
Directed By: Timothy Stack
Episode Number: 4×15
Why It’s Number 88: There’s something about this episode. It’s missing something. I’m not sure what it is, but it just doesn’t feel like Raising Hope. It has its moments, but it’s mostly absent of what the show is usually made of. The best part is how cute Burt’s ears look in a cowboy hat.
Best Line: “How am I supposed to give him a coupon to clip his toenails after he’s just given me jewelry created by the world’s top diamond scientists?”
FOX
"How I Met Your Mullet"
Written By: Tim Stack and Matthew W. Thompson
Directed By: Rick Kelly
Episode Number: 4×21
Why It’s Number 87: Burt finds out his true passion is what he’s been doing all his life with a little help from a bounty hunter named Mullet. That’s even ridiculous for Raising Hope. Besides, the episode aired just days after the highly controversial series finale of How I Met Your Mother, and it was a little too soon for a reminder.
FOX
"Hot Dish"
Written By: Kevin Henderson
Directed By: Rebecca Asher
Episode Number: 4×12
Why It’s Number 86: What even happened in this episode besides two women fighting over a man’s taste buds? Even at the bitter end, this show could have produced better.
Best Line: “Be sure to save a little room because there’s squid ink apple pie in the freezer.”
FOX
"Thrilla in Natesvilla"
Written By: Shelly Gossman
Directed By: Rick Kelly
Episode Number: 4×13
Why It’s Number 85: Everything in this episode is overshadowed by Burt and Virginia electroshock kissing on a shag carpet. Everything.
Best Line: “Do you remember the things we use to do on that rug?”
