Nike Air Max Plus
Released: 1998
Also known as Nike TNs because of the Nike running branding, these mastered the "flames-make-you-go-faster" look of cars in a way that has never been bettered.
Puma Mostro
Released: 1997
Perhaps the most comfortable shoes Puma ever produced, the Mostros perforated sole for sneakerheads who liked to cycle too. A later update changed the leather upper to mesh, only increasing snuggle level. Madonna allegedly took 15 pairs with her for a tour in 2001.
Reebok Question
Released: 1996
Worn by Allen Iverson when he crossed Michael Jordan in his debut season, the Question was a sneaker for people who wanted to do it their way.
Nike Air Rift
Released: 1995
Apparently inspired by Kenyan barefoot runners, the Air Rift can now mostly be seen on the feet of beachgoers. Such is life.
