This weekend CNN released never-seen-before footage of a 14-year-old Jennifer Lawrence acting in a high school Shakespeare play. And it's really rather lovely.

During a special spotlight on the Hunger Games star, CNN producers revealed Lawrence's first ever role came at the age of nine, when she played a role at her local church. And even then she opted for a controversial part as she played a prostitute from Nineveh in the play about the Book of Jonah.

Straight after her 14th birthday Lawrence then enrolled in her first acting class at Walden Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky. Just a few months later she performed her first role – as Desdemona in Shakespeare's Othello. And now footage of her efforts has been unveiled for the first time.
